Lamborn calls for energy legislation E-mail

Following a House vote, Congressman Lamborn urges House Leadership to schedule a vote on energy before the House adjourns for the August district work period Congressman Lamborn (CO-05) continues to admonish House Democrats as they make plans to adjourn for the August district work period without bringing any energy legislation to the House floor.  After the House of Representatives voted 213-212 to adjourn, with no Republicans voting in the affirmative, Congressman Lamborn offered the following statement:

US Christian Chamber to meet at New Life E-mail

While Chamber of Commerce organizations are common in most towns and cities, a Christian Chamber of Commerce is a growing concept across the country. Many Christian business leaders say they desire networking and support from a Christian perspective.

The US Christian Chamber of Commerce (USCCC) is introducing itself to Colorado Springs to provide such an opportunity July 30 at New Life Church. Senior Pastor Brady Boyd is the scheduled speaker.

Summer music camp set for July E-mail

The Summer Music Institute of First Presbyterian Church, Colorado Springs, is launching its third season July 21, culminating in a free concert to the public Friday evening, July 25 at 7:00 p.m. Special guest David Davidson joins them this year, bringing his unique artistry that crosses the boundaries of traditional musical styles by combining the worlds of classical, pop, commercial, sacred and Celtic music.

Ministry gets military families connected E-mail

LITTLETON, Colo. – NPG Hosting, a local web hosting company, announced today the launch of their new web site hosting program to support military families separated by overseas deployment in Iraq, Afghanistan or other regions of the world. According to partner, Bill Woods, “The greatest challenge facing members of the United States Military during long deployments is maintaining communications with the family back home. Missing daily activities, children growing up, the smiles and hugs, and the quiet chats with loved ones is stressful.

Prophecy at New Life megachurch E-mail

Ted Haggard’s former Colorado Springs church is now focusing on prophecy. Pastor Brady Boyd says the entire 10,000 member New Life Church congregation can use the gift of prophecy to make declarations about the future. Ministers at the megachurch recently went through the audience, telling one woman she was "at a crossroads" and another man "he was on the right track” according to the Denver Post. Following Haggard’s resignation in disgrace, the church had to deal with another major incident - two people were killed in the church parking lot during a shooting spree in December.

Local flu cases climb while one school shuts doors E-mail

Officials with the El Paso County Health Department want residents to know that flu cases are really on the rise locally.

Dr. Bernadette Albanese announced last Friday that the County reported 22 people hospitalized with the flu in January alone.   That's compared to only 3 cases in January of last year.   There were 26 cases total in all of the previous flu season.
