CTS Search

Rev. Charles H. Webb, Jr., church and alumni relations director for Christian Theological Seminary was named a member of the search committee for the new associate general minister and vice president of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

“It is a great honor and a greater responsibility to be part of the group charged with the task of finding the person to help run our church and assist our esteemed general minister and president, Dr. Sharon Watkins,” says Webb.

The associate general minister position, he says, will be critical to the life of the church. Having such a wide range of responsibility from fiduciary to creative to administrative, this position demands a person of great intellect, even temperament and mature spirituality.

Ann Updegraff Spleth, vice president for seminary advancement and an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) says Webb’s experience and understanding of the church will go a long way in the search.

"We are proud that Charles will be participating in this important search,” she says. “His knowledge of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and his experiences with many manifestations of the church will add depth to the process."

Webb is an alumnus of CTS and an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Before joining the staff of CTS, he served as the director of black ministry for the Division of Homeland Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and pastored several congregations within the church.
