Indianapolis, IN - People driving down 16th Street between Post and Franklin will notice some big improvements this spring. Trinity Lutheran School, located at 8540 E. 16th Street on Indianapolis’s Eastside has received a mini- Partners In Education grant from Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. Keep Indianapolis Beautiful is providing Trinity Lutheran School with a comprehensive master landscaping plan that can be implemented in stages. Landscaping has not been a high priority for the school, but the tornado of 2002 destroyed over twenty trees leaving the school grounds to look even more sparse from 16th street. On March 27th from 9:00 – 1:00, volunteers from Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and students from Trinity will begin the transformation by planting 25, 6-8 foot hardwood trees in the front of the school along with various shrubs. Along with improving the landscaping, the trees will provide much needed shade to the south facing classrooms. Add as favourites (57) | Quote this article on your site
