DENVER—Gretchen Redfield, Colorado Christian University faculty member and Technical Services Librarian, has been invited to attend the Instructor Development Seminar for the "Fundamentals of Library of Congress Classification" course on October 30, 2007, in Washington, D.C. Selected from a large pool of applicants, she is one of only 23 chosen from academic libraries nationwide. Upon completion of the seminar, Redfield will conduct similar training across the country with select faculty from schools such as Princeton University, University of Illinois, and Columbia University. The Library of Congress chose course participants based upon level of specialized experience and depth of communication and training skills. Redfield specializes in facilitating public access to library databases. On behalf of the Library of Congress, she previously headed a national committee to standardize online database and catalogue processes throughout the United States. Redfield began working at CCU in 2003. She has been a librarian for 33 years, holds a master’s degree in library science from Indiana University, and is a liaison to the Business and Global Studies Department at CCU. She also serves on CCU’s Faculty Affairs Committee. According to CCU Library Director Gayle Gunderson, "Gretchen is an enthusiastic and dedicated librarian and a strong supporter of information sharing and training. She will represent our University well in benefiting the wider academic library community." Published by BIG Picture Media Group, Inc. Add as favourites (48) | Quote this article on your site
