The State Senate's Business, Labor and Tecnology Committee has passed SB 82 which would end Colorado's ban on Sunday liquor store sales. The bill was approved on a 5 to 1 vote and now goes to the Senate Finance Committee. The vote followed a spirited public hearing in which many small liquor store owners argued against the bill. They said they already work long hours, six days a week and need Sundays to have quality time with their families. They also voiced fears that the move to Sunday sales was a step toward driving them out of business if another bill allowing grocery stores to sell liquor also wins approval. Other liquor store owners supported the bill and said their customers want Sunday sales. Add as favourites (121) | Quote this article on your site
