RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif., -- Christian Newswire -- Tim LaHaye, the originator and co-author with Jerry B. Jenkins of the extremely popular Left Behind® Series of prophetic-based novels of life on earth after the Rapture and the creators of the companion Left Behind: The Kids novels for children, is happy to announce that he has settled his eight-year long lawsuit against Namesake Entertainment and Cloud 10 Pictures.

The lawsuit was settled in exchange for Namesake and Cloud 10s' agreement to acknowledge no claim to Left Behind: The Kids and an option for the authors to reclaim other rights in the Left Behind Series.

While the litigation between LaHaye and Namesake and Cloud 10 was difficult and protracted, the author is thrilled that his dream of making a blockbuster, theatrical motion picture, based upon the Left Behind® Series is now, finally, a real possibility. LaHaye requests prayers that his original dream can be realized, of a top quality series of movies, true to the prophetic scriptures and the stories they are based upon.

It has long been the author's conviction that movies are the most powerful vehicles to the human mind yet invented. He is convinced that, if done with the highest quality, the same evangelistic and spiritual impact in the lives of viewers can be achieved as has been achieved in the lives of readers of the books. The authors have heard from thousands of readers who wish to share with them the experience of their conversion to Christ through reading the novels

"We trust and pray that, now that we finally have the opportunity to make the films we dreamed of, we will hear that millions more, worldwide, can report the same and that they will not be left behind," says LaHaye.
