FRANKLIN, Ind. – Franklin College will host a Doctors Without Borders convocation with guest speaker Sally Najera, RN, MPH, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, in the Franklin College Chapel. Najera has participated in medical missions in Mozambique, Liberia, Angola, Darfur, and most recently, Bihar State in northern India where she worked with victims of severe flooding. Najera will talk about life on the frontlines, where she and others bring much needed relief to regions affected by conflict and crises. In addition to establishing hospitals and clinics and performing surgeries in remote villages where doctors are scarce, Najera and her teams leave a lasting legacy by providing shelters, implementing nutritional programs, vaccinating children, sanitizing water supplies and offering health education programs.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information contact Franklin College at (317) 738-8185.

Founded in 1834, Franklin College is a residential four-year undergraduate liberal arts institution 20 minutes from downtown Indianapolis. The College prepares men and women for significant careers through the liberal arts, offering its approximately 1,000 students 28 majors including biology, business, education, and journalism. In 1842, it became the first coeducational institution, and the seventh in the nation, to admit women. Franklin College maintains a voluntary association with the American Baptist Churches USA.
